Daltile Collection

Daltile has several new collections for 2016 and they all follow a very contemporary, modern, fashionable theme. Specifically, these new products follow a sophisticated and French influence. But, that’s not the only notable release featured in the new Daltile collection.

The new Daltile releases focus more on a soft, grey stone look along with earthy tones of beiges and browns. The soft stone colored designs are reminiscent of natural minerals found in nature along with the cement look, which has become a popular trend. You wouldn’t describe these new collections as rough and loud with color, but rather soft, sophisticated, and following a fashionable French trend.

Among the releases is the hexagon tile which is an industry first. The Daltile Bee Hive tiles size in at 24”x20”. Usually these types of tiles are only seen in small sizes so this is rather incredible that we are entering 2016 with a new size within the flooring industry.

What’s interesting to note as well from the Daltile Collection is that the classic 12”x12” size is not found among the new collections but instead are comprised of contemporary sizes- featuring a large format 24”x48” the ever popular  12”x24” and a 24”x24” to round out the offering. Even the mosaics have been redesigned from the traditional 2”x2” size that has been prevalent. The mosaics in these new products mainly change in shape and size, opting for a more random look to fit the modern theme.

One thing notable about these releases are the lack of wood looks, which has been a rather popular tile design.  The trend for 2016 is bordering on Modern, but a modern look that can incorporate traditional furniture and fixtures without seeming to clash or be out of place.

So now here is a recap – The new Daltile collection for 2016 are best described as sophisticated, French, contemporary, soft, natural, and fashionable. There has been an industry first with the release of 24”x20” hexagon sized tiles titled as Daltile Bee Hive tiles, and there has been a classic 12”x12” size departure. While these designs are highly contemporary in appearance and in sizes, the large format 24”x48” size theme continues through most of these releases. And not forgetting about commercial projects, one of Daltile’s new lineups is Daltile Volume 1.0, something simple yet haut for the commercial industry.

Here’s a look at the actual new Daltile collections:

Daltile Ambassador – simply beauty. No complexities, this Daltile collection was inspired by fine-grained quartzite found in the Swiss Alps. The way the greys glides across this flooring selection is nothing short of elegant and handsome.

Daltile Consulate – features two types of looks: the Antique Field Tile which is a classic styling of porcelain tile which is made to look like aged marble and Quartzite Field Tile which emphasizes the look of natural quartzite minerals and their texture and richness.

Daltile Bee Hive – a fresh, unique, and modern style of flooring. Scored the industry first of being large hexagonal tiles to be utilized as flooring projects.

Daltile Dignitary – a porcelain tile collection that has been inspired by French limestone embedded with fossil-like layers and natural veins. This new collection also offers contemporary abstract mosaic tiles which are reminiscent of French cobblestones in appearance by their randomized pattern and using the rectangular shapes to lay the tiles in a way that departs traditional uniformity of mosaic tiles.

Daltile Volume 1.0 –gives a contemporary look to the commercial industry.Though simple in appearance, Daltile Volume 1.0 offers an attractive look for commercial spaces.

Daltile Haut Monde – a soft sandstone design with modern hues. Versatile as it is French in the name, this series offers not only residential use but also is an attractive collection for a commercial location. This contemporary lineup is designed with a warm, welcoming space in mind.
